The Foundation co-hosted a virtual conversation on May 30, 2025 with its grantee partner, Tradeoffs, to discuss Entangled: How People With Serious Mental Illness Get Caught in Misdemeanor Systems. Entangled explores how individuals with chronic mental illness are routinely—and needlessly—caught in America’s misdemeanor system, with little benefit to themselves or the broader public. The event featured Entangled editors Michael T. Compton, M.D., M.P.H., Leah G. Pope, Ph.D., and Amy C. Watson, Ph.D. in a discussion moderated by Ryan Levi of Tradeoffs.
